Outdoor trips: RV rentals, glamping, national parks and travel insurance
Outdoor trips can be cheaper than hotels, but they need more planning.
RV rental
Check mileage limits, generator fees, insurance, and whether kitchen and bedding kits are included. Book campsites early in peak season and confirm the RV’s length fits the sites.
Glamping
Furnished tents, cabins and yurts with real beds and often private bathrooms. A good option for families or first-time campers.
National park tours
Popular parks can require timed entry reservations in peak season. Guided tours handle logistics and add local knowledge.
Travel insurance
Typical plans cover trip cancellation for covered reasons, medical emergencies abroad, evacuation and lost bags. Read what counts as a covered reason. “Cancel for any reason” upgrades cost extra and usually refund only part of the trip cost. Check whether your credit card already includes some cover.
